Membership in good standing and delinquency
All memberships not in arrears on their payments are considered in good standing. These members may vote; propose by-law amendments; make, second, and vote on motions, resolutions, and nominations; and hold Co-op office. Memberships in arrears may do none of these things. Further, any membership six months (two or more payments) in arrears must make a $10 payment with each purchase or forfeit the membership discount. Please note: if payments are delinquent due to protracted absence from the area (e.g., you moved to California just after joining and moved back ten years later), please see our bookkeeper for a revised payment schedule.
Transferring a membership
Household memberships are transferable; to transfer a membership, please contact the bookkeeper for a Transfer Request Form. Senior memberships are not transferable, except to the surviving member of the household. Student memberships are not transferable.
Terminating a membership
Should you desire to leave the Cooperative, you must notify the bookkeeper in writing of your intention.
Household subscription payments are refundable at book or par value. This means that you will receive the number of paid subscription shares (up to five) times the current share value as established at the end of the fiscal year (June 30th of each year.) Physical plant fund payments are not refundable.
Senior and Student payments are not refundable, nor may they be converted or applied to a Household membership.
